A school that strengthens young people – academically and personally.

In lower secondary education, young people need more than lessons. They need orientation, stability and people who pay attention.

At Academia Primar & Sek, we support students during an important stage of their development. We promote achievement – always with relationships, clarity and the aim of preparing young people for their next step.

What we stand for

Our school is based on a clear belief:
Every young person has potential and deserves an environment in which that potential can become visible.

We believe in:

  • personal relationships instead of anonymous systems
  • support instead of labelling
  • clear structures instead of pressure
  • responsibility instead of pure control
  • future orientation instead of short-term solutions

This creates a learning environment in which young people can grow – academically, socially and personally.

Small school, strong relationships

Because learning needs trust.
With 50 to 70 students, we are a deliberately small school. This creates space for something that is often lost in larger systems: genuine attention.

Teachers know their students. Progress is noticed, difficulties are recognised early – and solutions are developed together.

This closeness is not an “extra”. It is the foundation for successful learning.

«What makes Academia Primar & Sek special for me is that you know practically all students personally from the very first day.”»
Bernd Fürst, teacher since 2019

Curriculum & recognition

We teach according to Lehrplan 21 and work towards clear learning objectives.

This creates transparency for parents and ensures that students are well prepared for further education and training pathways.

At the same time, we make deliberate use of our pedagogical freedom: through individual support, project-based learning and a learning culture that strengthens young people.

We are recognised by the canton of Basel-Landschaft as a private school. The transfer agreement with the canton of Basel-Landschaft, which allows students to enter grammar school or specialised middle school after Year 9 without an entrance examination if they meet the required performance level, reflects the strong recognition of our school.

«We chose Academia Primar & Sek because the children are taken seriously there. It is also important to us that teaching follows Lehrplan 21. In addition, there is respectful interaction among the students.»
